Meet Dr. Bob Zepecki

Dr. Bob Zepecki brings over 51 years of experience in veterinary medicine, with a diverse background spanning all areas of applied practice and preventative care. His expertise includes working with exotic species—such as lions and tigers—as well as providing compassionate care for domestic pets. Dr. Bob also collaborated with Eastern European organizations on projects aimed at improving livestock genetics.

Dr. Bob Zepecki brings over 51 years of experience in veterinary medicine, with a diverse background spanning all areas of applied practice and preventative care. His expertise includes working with exotic species—such as lions and tigers—as well as providing compassionate care for domestic pets. Dr. Bob also collaborated with Eastern European organizations on projects aimed at improving livestock genetics.

A graduate of the University of Illinois, Urbana, Dr. Bob’s early career was shaped by a commitment to community service. While completing his undergraduate studies, he partnered with the Champaign Park District on innovative programs for differently abled children, including initiating the first small animal interaction program for the handicapped at the Adler Center. He earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from the University of Illinois School of Veterinary Medicine in 1973.

Dr. Bob’s career is also distinguished by his service in the U.S. Air Force, where he served as a Captain and worked in Pakistan. He was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal for his outstanding leadership in supervising the Military Personnel Section during his tour of duty. Additionally, he served in the Illinois Air National Guard as the U.S. Air Force Academy Liaison Officer for the North Central Illinois area and later in the USAF Reserves at Chanute AFB, Rantoul, Illinois, where he worked as a military veterinary officer.

Dr. Bob’s extensive experience, leadership, and passion for veterinary care make him an integral part of the community. With his wealth of knowledge and unwavering commitment to animal health, he plays a key role in ensuring that every pet receives the highest standard of care. Dr. Bob’s dedication to both the science and compassion of veterinary medicine continues to have a positive impact on the lives of the pets and families he serves.
